Learning, Learning, Learning

Been a great couple of days, spent alot of time learning some new things about Adobe Dreamweaver, and using some of the things I've learned in Adobe Illustrator. My wife has this great machine called a Cricut, and she has been learning how to design new patterns. I have been trying to learn what she's been doing and have actually been able to create a couple of pretty cool patterns that if I can perfect them, she can cut them out. It's a different kind of thinking process when working with this machine, usually when working in Adobe programs you work with layers to produce the desired effect you want on the screen. When designing graphics to cut out you have to think of the objects as a separate item, which will be cut out on different pieces of paper. It's and outside the box thing for me. But pretty cool when you get it to work correctly...she belongs to this really cool forum where the members trade patterns and ideas and help each other figure out how to create the patterns they need. It's called SVGCUTS.COM

It's been a couple of day's since my last post, been busy. Just got home from work about 30 minutes ago. So I decided to try to put some new information up on the blog. If you look on the right sidebar you will find some new catagories, My Favorite places to go, and a catagory for up coming photoshop tips. Here is a fast quick tip that took me a while to find out about.

When working in close on a photoshop document and you need to move to a different part of the document, (you might need to do this if you are selecting an area up close and personal with the polygon selection tool) it doesnt matter the tool you are using. If you press the spacebar and hold it your mouse cursor will turn to the hand tool, now you can click and drag to the next part of the document you need release the mouse button before releasing the spacebar, and voila now you are back to the tool you were using. :)

Ah home at last, boy am I tired. Hopefully tomorrow will be a day of Adobe exploration, spend some time on Lynda.com. Maybe even work on some video worship backgrounds.
Here are some of the Keyboard shortcuts from Adobe Photoshop CS4

Up by 5am, at work by 6. This is the busy day at work, three worship services this morning and one this evening. Working on a new video background for the worship words we project. Lots of fun, using my favorite tools (Adobe)...
